Arrests included: 7 for public intoxication, 5 for prowling, 3 for drug influence and/or possessing drug paraphernalia, 3 for domestic violence, 2 for transportation and possession of marijuana for sale, 2 for appropriation of lost property, and 1 each for; violation of probation or parole, brandishing a weapon, warrant arrest, possession of concentrated cannabis, and possession of marijuana and a weapon on school grounds. Probation or parole holds were placed on 2 of these arrests.
Officers investigated 2 traffic collisions, 2 injury traffic collisions, 1 hit and run traffic collision, and 2 deaths by apparent natural causes. Three vehicles were impounded for 30 days due to the drivers being unlicensed or suspended.
Officers took reports of: 3 thefts, 2 stalking incidents, 2 abandoned vehicles, 2 suicidal subjects, and 1 each of; missing person, found property, vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, injured animal, child endangerment, and burglary.
Officers assisted the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force with several narcotics investigations, and the Ukiah Fire Department with a fire.
Highlights for the Week
On November 28th at about 11:05 PM Ukiah Police responded to the Forest Club at 239 North State Street regarding the report of a male brandishing a knife. Officers learned 51 year old Douglas Dale Wilsey had been drinking in the bar, and was refused further service by the bartender due to his level of intoxication. Wilsey became angry and removed a knife from his pocket, held it near his waist and spoke of injuring other bar patrons. Wilsey approached the bartender in a threatening manner while brandishing the knife before leaving. Officers located Wilsey in the 200 block of North Main Street, still holding the knife and very intoxicated. Wilsey was disarmed and taken into custody without incident, and was arrested and booked into the County Jail for brandishing a weapon.
On December 1st at about 2:20 AM Ukiah Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 39 year old Cassie Watkins, of Fort Bragg, in the 400 block of East Perkins Street. A passenger in the vehicle provided verbal identification, which was later determined to be false. The passenger was later identified as 35 year old Eric Christopher Seale, also of Fort Bragg. A Police K9 alerted to the presence of drugs within the vehicle, and a search of the trunk revealed 2 pounds of marijuana, 10 small marijuana plants, and 8 smaller bags each containing a smaller amount of marijuana. Seale eventually admitted his true identity, and was found to have a warrant for his arrest from San Francisco County, and two from Sonoma County. Watkins and Seale were both found to possess less than a gram of methamphetamine on their person. Watkins and Seale were arrested and booked into the County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession and transportation of marijuana for sale, possessing over an once of marijuana, and criminal conspiracy. Seale was additionally charged with providing false identity to law enforcement, and for the 3 arrest warrants.
On December 1st at about 1:10 PM Ukiah Police responded to the Wal Mart parking lot at 1155 Airport Park Boulevard regarding a subject reportedly smoking marijuana inside a vehicle. The vehicle left prior to the officers' arrival, but was soon located and stopped in the 700 block of South State Street. A passenger in the vehicle, 31 year old Michael Johnson, of Willits, was found to possess almost 2 grams of concentrated cannabis, and was arrested.
