Arrests included: 8 for public intoxication, 7 for drug influence and/or possessing drug paraphernalia, 6 warrant arrests, 3 for violation of probation or parole, 2 for domestic violence, and 1 each for: shoplifting, possessing an illegal or dangerous weapon, possessing marijuana on school grounds, and burglary. Probation or parole holds were placed on 5 of these arrests.
Officers investigated 4 traffic collisions. Five vehicles were impounded for thirty days due to the drivers being suspended or unlicensed.
Officers took reports of: 4 found property, 3 domestic violence, 2 thefts, 2 vandalisms, 2 missing persons, and 1 each of: identity theft, possessing stolen property, stolen vehicle, robbery, suicidal person, arson, battery, and child molest.
Highlights for the Week
On February 25th at about 9:20 AM the Ukiah Police School Resource Officer was assisting Ukiah High Staff with a defiant 16 year old female student. The student had been observed by staff wearing gang related clothing and was refusing to cooperate with staff. The officer noticed the student had a knife in her pants pocket, which she refused to give to the officer and held her hand over the knife, then took a fighting stance with the officer. The officer was able to remove the student’s hand from the knife causing the knife to fall to the ground. The knife’s blade was locked into the open position. The 16 year old female juvenile was taken into custody, and booked into the Juvenile Hall for possessing a dangerous weapon, possessing a knife on school grounds, and resisting arrest.
On February 27th at about 1:25 PM Ukiah Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 42 year old Humberto Toxqui in the 1500 block of North Bush Street. Toxqui was found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license, to be on probation and prohibited from driving after drinking, and prohibited from driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. Toxqui was found to have been drinking, and was too intoxicated to drive. Toxqui was arrested and booked into the County Jail for DUI, driving on a suspended license, violation of probation, and driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
On February 27th at about 7:45 PM Ukiah Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 24 year old Israel Fabian Fuentes in the 900 block of North State Street. Fuentes was driving with a suspended driver’s license, and was on probation and prohibited from driving after drinking. Fuentes had been drinking, and was found to be too intoxicated to drive and was arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed over 2 pounds of marijuana within several different containers. Fuentes as booked into the County Jail for DUI, driving on a suspended drivers license, violation of probation, and transportation of marijuana.
