Arrests included: 13 for public intoxication, 8 warrant arrests, 4 for drug influence and/or possessing drug paraphernalia, 4 for possessing a dangerous or illegal weapon, 3 for shoplifting, 3 for resisting arrest, 3 for burglary, 2 for violation of probation or parole, and 1 each for; vandalism, possessing marijuana on school grounds, possessing methamphetamine, possessing concentrated cannabis, domestic violence, and battery on a police officer. Probation or parole holds were placed on 7 of these arrests.
Officers investigated 2 traffic collisions.
Officers took reports of: 11 burglaries, 9 found property, 4 vandalisms, 4 child neglect, 3 missing persons, 2 thefts, 2 battery, 2 animal bites, and 1 each of: suicidal subject, domestic violence, identity theft, assault with pepper spray, and possessing stolen property.
Highlights for the Week
On April 16th at about 2:30 PM Ukiah Police served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Thomas Street. Inside the residence over ten pounds of marijuana in varying stages of processing and packaging was located in several different rooms, as well as items used in the manicure and processing of marijuana. The resident, 34 year old Sean Michael Mihalcean, was arrested and booked into the County Jail for marijuana cultivation and maintaining a place for drug distribution. A large amount of US Currency was seized pursuant to asset forfeiture laws related to this investigation.
On April 21st at about 2:00 PM Ukiah Police responded to Wal Mart at 1155 Airport Park Boulevard regarding a shoplifter that had fled the location. Officers learned store security had observed 26 year old Nicholas Samuel Cochran conceal items in his backpack and leave the store without paying. Cochran was contacted outside the store, discarded the backpack and ran away. Witnesses reported observing Cochran run into a nearby restaurant, and he was located inside and arrested for theft. Cochran displayed symptoms of drug influence and possessed a methamphetamine smoking pipe, and was additionally charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia. The stolen merchandise was valued at about $150.00.
On April 22nd at about 7:55 PM Ukiah Police performed a parole search at the residence of 27 year old Vincent Marcellino in the 1400 block of North Bush Street. Officers encountered numerous subjects inside the residence, some of whom were uncooperative and acting belligerent. Officers located a loaded handgun hidden in the residence, and Marcellino was arrested for prohibited firearms possession and violation of parole. 20 year old Jordan Quinn Casanova Nunez was found hiding in the residence, and was arrested for a warrant. 19 year old Jerry Julian Anaya, of Navarro, was identified and also found to have a warrant, and was arrested. 49 year old Denise Marie Stockton tried repeatedly to interfere with the officers while making these arrests, and refused to comply with verbal commands and was arrested for interfering with a police officer and violating probation. 42 year old Eric France was contacted outside the residence and also arrested for a warrant.
On April 22nd at about 11:20 PM Ukiah Police observed a male and female arguing in the 1300 block of North State Street. The subjects were contacted, and 18 year old Kimberly Ann Allen was found to have been drinking in violation of her probation. Allen was taken into custody and arrested, and while walking toward the patrol vehicle, broke free from the officer and ran towards the male while yelling angrily at him. Allen was stopped before reaching him, and used her legs to prevent being placed inside the vehicle, then kicked the vehicle once inside. Allen was booked into the County Jail for probation violation and resisting arrest.
On April 23rd at about 1:00 AM Ukiah Police stopped a vehicle being driven by 40 year old Janeane Parker in the 1400 block of North State Street. Parker displayed symptoms of drug influence, and less than one gram of methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle. Parker was also found to have a warrant for her arrest from Marin County. Parker was arrested and booked into the County Jail for possessing methamphetamine, and the warrant.
On April 24th at about 1:15 AM Ukiah Police responded to the Express Mart at 998 South State Street regarding a burglary. The front door of the business had been shattered and broken glass and beer bottles were seen on the floor of the business. Surveillance video showed two male subjects enter the business through the broken door, and one was seen stealing cigarettes while the other removed beer from the cooler. The subjects are seen exiting through the same door after falling on the floor and dropping most of the stolen beer. The suspects were recognized by officers who identified them as 18 year old Maric Santiago Arriaga and 26 year old Raymond Eugene Ellis. At about 9:50 AM Arriaga was spotted in the 500 block of South School Street and was arrested. Arriaga was found to possess several packs of the stolen cigarettes. Arriaga was booked into the County Jail for burglary, vandalism, and conspiracy. An arrest warrant has been issued for Raymond Ellis and he remains at large.
On April 24th at about 1:50 AM Ukiah Police responded to the Motel 6 at 1208 South State Street regarding loud and disruptive room occupants. Officers contacted 5 subjects inside the room, including 48 year old Shannon Marie Wilson and 23 year old Ashley Faye Sturges, of Reno, NV, and 24 year old Lacy Jean David, of Ukiah. David was found to be on probation and under the influence of a controlled substance. Wilson was found to have two local warrants for her arrest, and Sturges was found to possess several grams of concentrated cannabis. All three were arrested and booked into the County Jail.
On April 27th at about 1:40 AM Ukiah Police Officers were in the 300 block of Clara Avenue, and observed 39 year old David Allen Bollinger peering into vehicles. Bollinger’s behavior was consistent with burglarizing vehicles, and as Bollinger was approached by officers he fled running onto Myron Street then into an alley. A perimeter was established, and Bollinger was soon found hiding in a backyard and was arrested. Bollinger was found to possess a fixed blade knife hidden under his clothing. Bollinger was booked into the County Jail for prowling, possessing a dangerous weapon, and violating his probation. Prepared by Captain Justin Wyatt
