UPD Report: Party at Motel 6 ends with theft of victim's pants [The following is an edited version of a press release issued at 3:41 p.m. July 1 by Captain Justin Wyatt of the Ukiah Police Department.]
At around 9:10 p.m. June 27, Ukiah Police responded to the Motel 6, 1208 South State Street, to investigate a theft from a guest. Police contacted the 24-year-old male victim, who told officers he’d arranged to meet two females in his room. Shortly after the females arrived, the victim left the room but returned shortly thereafter. The victim reported socializing with the females, which included the use of illegal drugs. The victim was suddenly rushed by a male subject, who had been hiding in the bathroom, and the females held the victim down while the male demanded money from the victim. The male then removed the victim’s pants, who then fled the room after the females released him. The victim’s pants contained a cellular telephone, a wallet, and some money.
As the victim was talking to officers, a vehicle arrived in the parking lot and the victim identified two of the occupants as the female suspects. Officers contacted the two, identified as Tarran Ashley Eddy, 18, and a 17 year old female juvenile. A portion of the property taken from the victim was recovered from the vehicle. Eddy and the female juvenile were arrested for robbery, unlawful imprisonment and criminal conspiracy. Eddy was booked into the County Jail and the female juvenile into Juvenile Hall. The victim was found to have two outstanding warrants, and was also arrested and booked into the County Jail.
This case remains under investigation. Police anticipate additional arrests in the near future related to this case.

UPD Report: CPS takes child after mother passes out, vomits on self, punches officer
[The following is an edited version of a press release issued at 3:41 p.m. July 1 by Captain Justin Wyatt of the Ukiah Police Department.]
At around 12:05 a.m. July 1, Ukiah Police responded to a residence in the 800 block of Waugh Lane regarding the report of a loud disturbance. Officers could hear yelling and banging from within the residence, and made contact with the occupants. Police observed a 2-year-old child wearing only a diaper walking around the inside of the residence, amongst numerous alcoholic beverage containers and marijuana smoking devices.
The child’s mother Kristin Mallean, 22, was found to be intoxicated. A 17-year-old female was also found present in the residence and also found to have been drinking, and who claimed to be the child’s babysitter. Kadie Copley, 18, was found unconscious and to have vomited on herself. As officers awakened Copley to check her medical condition, she responded with belligerence and profanity, and punched an officer in the face. Officers attempted to restrain Copley to prevent further assault, and she grabbed at the officer before being taken into custody. On the floor near where Copley lay was found numerous hydrocodone pills, loose and accessible to the child. Copley was arrested and booked into the County Jail for battery on a peace officer and possession of hydrocodone. Mallean was arrested for child endangerment and providing alcohol to minors. The 17-year-old female was released to her mother, and the child to Child Protective Services.
